Kristin Fischer will join CNN as CNN's Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. In her new position, Fisher is responsible for covering everything including NASA's new Space Force to commercial space businesses and the advent space tourism. Kristin was mother of NASA astronauts and an enthusiastic space lover was raised in the industry. She worked for five years as the White House correspondent for FOX News covering space policy in the Biden and Trump Administrations. While covering the two impeachment proceedings against the president, 2020's Presidential Campaign, and both administrations attempts to limit the outbreak of coronavirus, Kristin covered a lot of other topics. The president of the time Donald Trump traveled to Afghanistan for a restricted trip. Kristin was a fixture in the newsrooms of local markets like Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, as well as Washington, D.C. for nearly a decade before joining the network. She won an Emmy Award in Washington, D.C. as the CBS affiliate's one-man band reporter. Kristin's expertise as a camerawoman has led her to create Field Mouse Films which specialized in making documentaries for corporate clients including Uber Hotels & Resorts, and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin received her Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Boston University. Kristin is married to her daughter, and her three-year-old in Washington, D.C.
